Eccentric pop songstress Lady Gaga has become the first Twitter user to break the 20 million followers mark, reports the Telegraph.
Gaga, who is two million followers ahead of her nearest rival Justin Bieber, received her 20 millionth follower over the weekend and, in addition, has already amassed an extra 156,000 fans over the milestone.
She continues to dominate the Twittersphere, smashing other rivals like Katy Perry (15.75 million), Shakira (14.56 million) and Rihanna (14.49 million) out of the park due to her mix of fashion, music and general ranting on the service.
Even US President Barack Obama is left eating dust, harbouring a measly 12.84 million followers by comparison.
Social media marketing professionals could learn a lot from the Poker Face singer as she continually offers backstage tickets, promotional insights and behind-the-scenes pictures from the world of Gaga in order to amass followers.
In a surprising turn, Gaga also claims to man her Twitter account personally, rather than leaving it to a masked management team - giving a service a wonderful breath of fresh air.
Gaga also has the privilege of becoming the first Twitter user to reach 10 and 15 million followers respectively, cites newsfeed.time.com. As a result, the odds must be fairly short on her being the first to reach 25 million.
