Facebook is launching another new service to increase engagement with its users – Action Links.
Action Links is a totally customisable link that appears within an app post. For example, when a piece of social media content appears on a Timeline, Ticker of News Feed, a customisable link will appear next to the generic ‘Like’ or ‘Comment’ links.
Facebook, cited by zdnet.com, explains more: “For example, when someone checks in on foursquare and shares it on their timeline, friends can already like or comment on the resulting post through the links that appear as part of the story.
“Now with action links, foursquare added another links – ‘Save This Place’ – that enables people to save a place to their foursquare to-do list directly from Facebook. Fab.com allows people to add a product to their own Fab.com favourites with the ‘Fave This Product’ action link,” the firm added.
According to Facebook’s Alex Wyler, the link is totally customisable by the developers, therefore it can tie one action to a completely different action, giving app developers yet another way to increase engagement with their users, cites cnet.com.
Content creators using the social media giant’s app service can find out more information on how to create their own action links by visiting Facebook’s documentation page.
